Uttama Savanayana (left) turned in his resignation to make way for Deputy Prime Minister Prajin Juntong as acting minister of the brand new Information and Communication Technology (ICT) ministry. ACM Prajin will also serve as acting minister of Thailand's new Digital Economy and Society Ministry, replacing the ICT Ministry, until the government selects a new minister. The outgoing ICT minister, Uttama Savanayana, tendered his resignation to Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha on Monday. The new ministry will have two new ministerial agencies to serve the development of the digital economy: the National Digital Economy Committee and the Digital Economy Promotion Agency. For the Digital Economy Promotion Agency, the management structure will be in compliance with the strictures of a public organisation.
